No-one was able to save him. Meanwhile there was a certain doctor, named Philip. And they all trusted him. Philip wished to provide a drug for Alexander. The king consented and Philip prepared the drug in a cup. Then a certain general sent a letter. In the letter he said to Alexander that the enemy, preparing money, persuaded Philip to kill Alexander. When the doctor was present, the king, taking the cup, showed the letter. At the same time as Alexander drank, Philip read the letter.
